Abstract

|
Hereditary spherocytosis is a clinically heterogeneous, genetically determined red blood cell membrane disorder resulting in hemolytic anemic.
The erythrocyte membrane defect, especially a deficiency in spectrin, results in the formation of spherocytes which lack the strength, durability and flexibility to withstand the. stress of circulation. It is a relatively uncommon disorder in Korea.
We experienced a case of this disorder and report it with the review of literature.
